At the May 29th Moorhead City Council meeting there will be a public forum to provide input on the Enabling Resolution that currently allows the Moorhead Economic Development Authority to hire and manage its director and staff. The proposed change to the Enabling Resolution will give the city council and staff authority to supervise, hire and fire the EDA staff.
The Moorhead Business Association helped navigate the separation of EDA and city prior to the hiring of the current EDA director Cindy Graffeo.
Prior to the public forum on May 29th the MBA board has invited City Council members and EDA Board members to meet at our regularly scheduled meeting to share with us the reasoning behind making this change.
It is the hope of the MBA board that this meeting will provide insight into what, if any position the MBA will take at the public forum.
