Winter's Tale Snow Sculpture Competition

Registration

  • Winter's Tale theme. No logo's.
    Block of snow: 4' x 6' x up to 8' h Horizontal or Vertical. No power tools. No color.
    Tools needed: snow shovel, beach shovel, spoons and spray bottle of water.
    Sculptures begin on January 23rd and must be completed by 2 pm on the 26th. Prizes for the 2 top winners.
  • Sculptures that have some experience with snow and sculpturing. No fee, must submit a statement of content approved by the Frostival committee by January 4, 2019. Blocks of snow available: 8 x 8 x 8 or 8 x 8 x 10. No power tools. No color- all white sculptures. Theme~ Winter's Tale. No logos. Sculpture begin January 19th and must be completed by 2 pm on the 26th. Cash prizes will be awarded.
  • Business name and logo associated with the Snow Sculpture Competition on social media posts prior, during the week of the preparation and after the event. Business name and logo on banners and promotional materials. Business name or logo on the 8th & Main billboard thanking the Sponors. Representative from the business would be a judge for the competition. Business recognition at the awards ceremony.
  • Scouts, dance clubs, 4-H clubs, school organizations, day care and the list goes on.
    I bet there are businesses that will sponsor you!
    Block of snow 4 x 6 horizontal or vertical. Tools: snow shovel, beach shovel, spoon and spray bottle of water. Warm and dry clothes and boots. Sculpture begins on January 23 and must be completed by 2 pm on the 26th.
    Prizes for the top 2 winners.

Theme:  A Winter's Tale  

Where: Moorhead's Viking Ship Park near the Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center

When:  January 26, 2019 

Winter's Tale Event Sponsorship $300 

   Business name and logo associated with the Snow Sculpture Competition on digital media posts prior, during the week of the preparation and after the event.

  Business name and logo on banners, promotional materials and social media post.

  Business name and logo on the 8th & Main Billboard listing and thanking the Sponsors. 

  Representative from the business would be a judge for this event.

  Business recognition at the awards ceremony. 

 Winter's Tale Categories: MBA and Moorhead Parks will help provide forms/ frames and snow for the building process.

 Master Snow Sculptures~ Sculptures that have experience with snow or sculpturing.  No fee, must submit a statement of content approved by the Frostival Committee by January 4th.  Blocks of snow available:  8 x  8 x 8 or  8 x 8 x 10.  No power tools. No color. No logo's. Cash prizes to be awarded.

Community Sculptures  $100 entry fee.  Blocks of snow:  4 x 6.  No power tools or color.  Sculpture theme~ Winter's Tale.  Prize for the top 2 winners.   

Youth Sculptures  ( 3-4 youth under 18 and 1 responsible adult) $25 entry fee Blocks of snow: 4 x 6.  Tools:  regular shovel, smaller beach shovel, spoons and spray bottle of water.  

January 7, 2019  Registration Deadline

January 19- 26, 2019  Master Snow Sculptures begin 

January 23-26, 2019   Community and Youth Sculptures begin

January 26, 2019  Frostival Winter's Tale event  from 10 - 4:30 pm 

January 26, 2019  Snow Sculptures must be completed by 2 pm, judging begins at 2:30 pm.

January 26, 2019  Awards at 3:30 pm. 

Just remember, your limitation is your endurance to cold. Let your imagination run free and enjoy yourself!
